- Verified concern, cranks but will not start. Scanned for codes and printed scan report. Multiple codes related to DPF and EGR present. Removed EGR tube and blocked off EGR Port. Attempted to start engine. Engine still will not start. This rules out a stuck open EGR valve. Checked scan tool data for cranking fuel rail pressure. Fuel rail pressure needs to be over 5000 psi to start. I'm not getting any more than 70 psi when cranking. Removed high pressure pump cover and removed fuel quantity solenoid from pump. Solenoid has some debris lodged into the screen but not enough to guarantee high pressure pump failure. Attempted to pull a fuel sample. Lift pump is not functioning. Checked for power and ground to lift pump. Both are present and pump is not running. Recommend replacement of lift pump and fuel filter. Also noticed air filter is very dirty.
- FUEL PUMP – Remove & Replace – V6,3.0L Eng In Tank,w/Skid Plate
- During fuel filter replacement found the remnants of DEf fluid in the bottom of the filter housing. Cleaned housing and installed filter. DEF fluid will ruin the fuel system.
- Remove and replace air filter. Inspect and remove any debris obstructing the air intake system.
